This is an archive of the 2006 Mad Robin Ball web site. To learn about the upcoming Mad Robin Ball, see our current ball page.

Mad Robin flies for the fifth time on June 10, 2006. Our special guest this year will be dance choreographer and teacher Andrew Shaw, coming to us from Cheshire, England, with his creative interpretations of long-neglected dances. Andrew developed a local following with his summer 2004 Mendocino English Week classes and subsequent appearances in Berkeley and Sebastopol. His precise calling and sharp wit engaged dance gypsies and beginners alike. The band will feature local favorites Chuck Ward and Jon Berger, joined by Bonnie Insull from San Diego. We return again to the elegant Hermann Sons Hall in Petaluma for the Saturday afternoon workshop and evening ball. The next morning, all are invited to a potluck brunch at the home of Jim and Celine Passage in Sebastopol. Andrew will then be calling a special Sunday afternoon dance in Sebastopol at Wischemann Hall (the location of our regular 1st-and 3rd-Sunday dances) .

Mad Robin is an English Country Dance Ball organized by the English dance group in Sebastopol, founded by Lydee Scudder and sponsored by the North Bay Country Dance Society. A chance to dress up, meet new dancers, explore Sonoma County and dance to wonderful live music. We hope to see you at the next Mad Robin Ball!
